Move-In (Sec. J):
- Open to Match Participants Only on Monday, October 10th from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.
- All others may move in on Tuesday from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Move-Out (Sec. J):
- Immediately following completion of Southern Region Specialty on Friday, October 14th
Please use the designated areas at the Hickory Metro Convention Center and at the Quality Suites for exercising your dogs. Waste cans, pooper-scoopers and plastic bags are available for your use.
There is a designated bathing area at the Quality Suites behind the fitness room. Please bathe your dogs in that area only.
Please… no dogs in the breakfast area of the hotel, due to North Carolina health code regulations.
Please… no dogs inside the gated pool area of the hotel.
The Quality Suites has blankets and towels available for you to use under your crates in your hotel room. Please request them if you need one.
Food
Full breakfast available at the host hotel, Quality Suites, each morning beginning at 6:00 a.m.
Coffee and continental breakfast available at the Hickory Metro Convention Center Tuesday – Friday beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Concession stand open for lunch at the Hickory Metro Convention Center from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday - Friday

Travel Information
Nearest airport is Charlotte, NC (CLT) about 50 miles from Hickory, NC. See our map page.
Rental car agencies there are Hertz, National, Enterprise, Avis, Thrifty and Dollar.
There is a shuttle that runs from the Charlotte airport to the Hickory area. Reservations are required. Specify if you are traveling with dogs. This is an airport to airport shuttle (Charlotte - Hickory). They will deliver you to the hotel, but you must specify that when you make your reservation.

Grooming/Electric
Reserved grooming will only be included with a $200 or greater trophy contribution (see Trophy Donations below).
Open grooming areas will be available at no charge for those who do not need electric. If electric is needed it will be on a first come first served basis, if available, for $30 for a 2 plug, 20 amp drop. This is not for reserved space. You may reserve your electric drops by sending your reservation with a $30 payment to Sally Carr, 9N973 Meadow Drive, Elgin, IL 60124. All cords must have a specialty tag (handed out onsite) on it at the show. Make checks payable to: 2011 OESCA National Specialty. Deadline is October 1, 2011.
Trophy Donations
Your contribution to the Trophy Fund is appreciated and will be acknowledged in the National Specialty Catalog. Deadline for inclusion in the catalog is August 30th. Premiums for your contributions are listed below:

- Bassett - $50 - $99 donation
- 2 reserved ringside seats
- Carolina - $100 - $199 donation
- 2 reserved ringside seats

- This is for both the National and Regional Specialties. If you need grooming spaces together with another party, reservations & payment must be received together in the same envelope. Name and Kennel name must be listed exactly as it should appear in the catalog.

Catalog Advertising
The combined catalog will include the Performance and all Conformation events. A great keepsake in which to advertise! Rates are:
- $60 full color page including one photo, additional photos are $10 each
- $35 full black & white page including one photo, additional photos are $8 each
- $25 half black & white page no photo

Rescue Parade
The Rescue Parade will honor the efforts of individuals, Rescue Organizations, and those Special Rescue Angels who are committed to our breed. You are invited to showcase your Rescue Dog (s) and enjoy the Old English Sheepdog Club of America Specialty. Enter your dog in the Rescue Parade, write a bio of your dog (no more than 150 words, please), receive a special Rescue Parade Ribbon, and a large tote bag filled with goodies for your best friend and some for you too! A booklet of all of the Rescue Dogs entered in the parade will be provided to each participant. Meet many breeders, exhibitors, vendors, and of course other Old English Sheepdogs.

OESCA will offer an Awards Banquet on Thursday evening, October 13th, at the Hickory Metro Convention Center, to celebrate our National Specialty. Massage Seminar
Paula Rellihan, Certified Massage Practitioner, will conduct a 2-hour massage seminar focusing on teaching people to maximize their dogs' performance in both conformation and performance events.
- 3:00 p.m. Monday Oct. 10th
- Cost is $65 for working slots (hands-on, 1 person, 1 dog). Update- Hands on slots are full, ther are only auditing slots available.
- Cost is $35 for auditing the seminar (no dog) - unlimited

Pet-Sitting Services: New in 2011!!
Tarheel Old English Sheepdog Rescue will offer pet-sitting services for a donation to TOESR. Notice of Judge Change for Southern Regional Specialty
The committee wishes to announce that, due to unfortunate circumstances, Nancy Shaffer-Smith has had to withdraw as the judge for the Southern Regional Specialty, scheduled for October 14, 2011. The committee has selected M. Sue Richey as the new judge for the Southern Regional Specialty. Entrants to this show will receive notification from Roy Jones Dog Shows regarding the change.
